Welcome

We have plenty of options for everyone in our Ballard taproom. Our main bar flows out to ample, covered seating in front of a large garage door. We also have a spacious beer garden with fire-pit seating. Many of our outside areas have overhead heating. Kids and well behaved dogs are welcome in the main taproom, out front and in the beer garden. All seating is first-come/first serve with the exception of private events. Upstairs at Stoup is reserved for 21+ humans only.

We like to call this one Sunshine In a Glass ... or Sunshine In Your Belly because it won't stay in that glass long. Our Citra® IPA is designed to be light and bright in both color and body. Your first sniff will elicit images of tropical fruit and citrus thanks to a healthy dose of Citra® hops. Enjoy a pint of this and you might just find yourself gazing skyward, pondering how in the heck sunshine made its way into your glass.

Sometimes we like to relive the good ole days while reveling in new trends like Hazy IPA. So we brew a batch of this beer, pack it with the brightest, citrusiest, peachiest, passion fruitiest hops we can find, like Citra, Mosaic and Galaxy. And then we sit back, sip and trip on down memory lane.

Simcoe Studies IPA

If you're looking for a lesson in the deliciousness of Simcoe hops, drink this beer! We added loads of Simcoe Cryo hops in the whirlpool and in the dry hop. We threw a little Citra in there to keep it honest, but if you're searching for the citrus and pine that only Simcoe can deliver, this beer is for you!

California Common

Our California Common pays homage to a distinctly American beer, the "steam beer" made famous by Anchor Brewing Company in San Francisco. This beer is a hybrid beer which means we used lager yeast, but fermented at ale temperatures. The outcome is a smooth session beer with a distinct toasted and caramel malt flavor.

13° Czech Style Pilsner

Our 13°P Czech Style Pilsner-our first decoction brew out on Capitol Hill-is built on a base of Weyermann Barke-Pilsner Malt for a snappy, lightly malt-forward lager with notes of biscuit and cracker. Hopped 100% with Czech Saaz hops for a prominent noble hop spiciness and crisp, refreshing finish. This batch was brewed to a starting gravity of 13°P for a bit more body and an abv of 5.5%. IBU 30. SRM 3.

Mother of Exiles IPA

This beer is inspired by American poet Emma Lazarus who wrote MOTHER OF EXILES in 1883 to raise money for the construction of the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. It was originally brewed as part of the #beertrumpshate campaign but it is clear that immigrant and refugee crises can happen anytime and anywhere. Every time this beer comes into our rotation it will highlight a community in need and proceeds will be donated to an organization addressing those needs. This year we are supporting ReWA (Refugee Women's Alliance). The beer highlights our love of Galaxy hops. We boosted Galaxy's huge tropical fruit aroma and flavor with a little Citra (another one of our favorites) so that the beer packs a massive hop nose and finishes with a clean, firm bitterness.

In the entire history of humankind, there has never been a more profound expression of love than the personalized mixtape. Hours of deliberation about which songs to share from your home tape collection followed by hours of tiny handwritten playlists with tiny hearts incorporated wherever possible. Follow that with "play"-"record", change tape, "play"-"record" , change tape............This beer is our mixtape for you. For this latest edition of our rotating dry hopped lager series, we first brewed the beer with pilsner malt for a light body and gentle malt sweetness. Then we lagered the beer for several weeks to create a clean, refreshing crispness. As our mixtape final song, we dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin and touch of Citra for aromas of melon, berry and grapefruit. Load it up, press play and enjoy.

North by NW Pilsner

We took the North German Style pilsner and added our own Northwest twist. We brewed this pilsner with Weyermann Pilsner malt and then hopped with Saphir, Tettnanger and Saaz for an assertive noble hop quality. We then dried it out with extended fermentation. The result is a zesty, refreshing beer with a taste of sweet pilsner malt and a pillowy white head.
